FOUNDER, LEAD VISIONARY
Doris Wesley, PHD
Dr. Doris E. Wesley (she/her) is the Founder and Lead Visionary of the GEM Daughters Network, a digital nonprofit dedicated to addressing the social issue of fatherlessness by supportingβelevating, equipping, and empoweringβwomen and girls experiencing dysfunctional father-to-daughter relationships.
An award-winning university communication and conflict pracademicβan academic and a practitionerβand a global peacebuilder, she equips individuals, organizations, institutions, and communities with the necessary skills to transform conflict at any level using proven multimodal communication and peacebuilding strategies. Her commitment to supporting women and girls intensively began at the University of North CarolinaβGreensboro, where she began her research on trauma/terrorist survivors and conflict-affected women and girls in sub-Saharan Africa and then extended to include several other international and local communities and populations.
Through the synergy of her academic, practitioner, and social impact work, Dr. Wesley has connected with diverse audiences and continues to champion empowerment, development, and conflict transformation. A first-generation immigrant, Dr. Wesley earned her PhD in Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Media from North Carolina State University and remains passionate about helping individuals build a stronger foundation and future.
